I recently decided to paint a portrait in Artisan oils,as I found that acrylics were a little hard for this particular portrait.I have used these oils for landscapes which I paint fairly freely, the portrait called for detail , blending & glazing.I found that the 2 mediums I have ie.Artisan fast drying oil medium & oil painting medium weren`t a lot of help and I ended up with" sticky "paint.
Does anyone use these paints regularly with success and can you add water with the mediums?
I have read various articals about using these paints but they are written to sell the paints ,and not a lot of help.
I bought these paints as my studio is alongside the bedroom and even odourless thinners and linseed oil are not good bedfellows! *-)
