I use Winsor and Newtons Artisan water mixable oil paints. the colours I use are yellow orche, burnt siena (or sometimes cad red light), ultramarine and burnt umber and white. The problem I seem always to have is my grays - I can mix a nice dark gray with ultramarine / burnt umber or ultramarine / burnt siena but when I add white I don't like the colour - it is just a little too 'bright' even when I start adding any of the colours into it.
What are your thoughts on mixing grays?
