The latest video from David Stead Studio is HERE, in it I make an oil painting using palette knives and discuss my battle with Covid 19

I've had a couple of reports today concerned that this post from David is advertising, and shouldn't be permitted to remain. I've not removed it, because I don't think it's as clear-cut as that: these are very difficult times for any artist, especially for those relying on income from students; and incidentally, David does make good videos.   I don't think it's in the same class as those embedded text blatant adverts we've all seen, several of which I've deleted today and yesterday.   So - I think I'll leave this to Website High Command, i.e. Dawn.  If it were just a plug for one of these wretched sales sites, it'd be gone - but I think there's room for a bit of discretion here.  And it's only a day or two to wait for Dawn's judgement on the question.  Once she's ruled, I'll take my lead, of course, from her.   Thanks to all for your diligence in reporting these things, whatever the ultimate decision is: it saves a great deal of time I'd otherwise spend scouring the Forum.  RJ
Thanks for allowing it to stay on for a while Robert. I’ve just watched the YouTube video and enjoyed it very much, David has a confident and laid back manner of demonstration. I’m not a regular YouTube viewer but I will certainly watch out for further videos from David.
Fiona - yes, that's what I thought, basically.   And I've subscribed to David's YouTube channel, too!
Yes we’ve been plagued somewhat over the last week or so with embedded text in postings, all scams for sales sites. I haven’t watched this video but he’s not trying to sell anything, so I have no issues with it. This is totally different to the other stuff. I believe there is a section on this website to post your videos, under ‘community videos’, I’ve not checked it out though.

Hi All, I think David's content is relevant to the site and therefore, as High Command (!), I am happy for it to stay. I will drop David a message about using the Community video section too.
Alan is right about the community videos too. They can be seen here https://www.painters-online.co.uk/community-videos/ and anyone can upload video content via their own account. Just login and go to My Account > My videos to share film content on PO.
Dear all, Sorry to cause controversy especially as I'm new to the site and it's my first post! I've no wish to upset anyone and there was no intention to bend the rules. I will be uploading more tutorial videos and will endeavour to ensure they fit within the ethos of the site. Best to all, David
David - I'm glad Dawn agreed with me!  It was just that I did get a report on your post, and would normally take that very seriously and remove anything containing hidden or not so hidden advertising.  But having read it, I felt it fell comfortably within the rules of what's acceptable - and I joined your YouTube page on the strength of it, too.  Welcome to the site, and please keep posting.
Thank you Robert - will do. Have done!
