I have just picked up my oil paints after over 30 years. When I was trying to paint in oils all those years ago, I used a 50/50 mix of linseed oil and turps for a medium. For my first attempt back into oils I used 50/50 linseed oil and Zest-it, mix. Ruth Dolan asked about the drying time compared with acrylics. The simple answer is I have no idea, The only acrylics I use is a tin of Dulux to brush on the wall. As it was so long ago that I painted oils, I can't remember how long they take to dry, or if I ever knew, they were all so poor I never put any up for public display, so they were just left to one side without framing to do their own thing. The new medium I've made hasn't had a test run to see what the drying time is. As Zest-it make their own mediums I would expect there is a web site with info on drying times.bestMick
