I rather liked working on the Belle Arti gessoed panel for my last attempt, even though I thought it was too smooth. I have just taken delivery of some W&N acrylic gesso and some DR burnt sienna and cadmium red acrylic colours, mixed up a pink and just coated an ancient stretched canvas to have a try. The weird thing is, this is one of my dad's old canvases and had a couple of dents in it, since applying the gesso, they have disappeared which seems to me that the gesso has penetrated the primer and is working on the canvas?bestMick
