Could I ask all of you - especially but certainly not exclusively oil painters - if you would do me a big favour by visiting my blogspot page (www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk) and taking a look at my Cripple Path II oil painting. I've shown it here - and indeed it's been chosen for the Gallery selection, which I find most pleasing! - but I feel it's a little chalky, and at least one of our number agrees with me that there's a grey tint to it. The reproduction on the Gallery seems to have lost some precision and colour - which may be my photographic skills, although it's the same photo on the blogspot page, and that - to me - looks clearer and less white. But I should value your opinions - because if it could benefit from a warm glaze, it would be very easy for me to apply it. And while you're there - do sign up to the blog: advertisers like to see lots of followers!
Robert, It may be that POL automatically change the resolution of uploaded pictures. Comparing your blog image with the POL version the latter looks less in focus. They both seem to have a blueish tint which may be down to how you took the photograph.
Yes, I can see a difference also, but can't offer any explanation. Regarding the resolution, all web images are scaled at 72dpi, as say against a printed quality lithograph which is usually 300dpi. it is highly unlikely that this would be decreased any further by POL. And another factor that has just come to mind is that your CMYK file wile be converted to an RGB file, that will have some bearing on it also.
