Hi Might anyone advise please as to the best size dippers to buy in the clip on range?I know I could of course use any container but I'd like something to clip on. Thank you
They tend to come just a couple of sizes mainly, single and double of course. Get the largest diameter ones in double, that will cover all your needs. They are so cheap nowadays that you can try several makes and sizes and find the most suitable.
Big ones if you use solvents, like turps. I have two sizes - biggies and smaller ones, because I don't use turps or Liquin or anything other than Linseed Oil just now, and too big a container of that would probably cause me to use too much of it. I would say try to keep them clean, but a look at mine would reveal my depth of hypocrisy if I did....
Thank you Robert and Alan. Since posting, I measured the largest brush I have and it is 1ins wide and it seems that apart from a 2ins in diameter one, most are a1.5 ins in diameter -https://www.jacksonsart.com/jas-artist-dipper-lid-double-2x1-5in-diam-clips-on-to-palette.So I'm guessing this will do.
