I thought I'd dig this one out of the archives.
That, really is a super painting Robert, it is a beautiful creature and If I had of know, I would have give it a go and tried to paint one myself today.
Love badgers and this guy Robert…. Until Sam rolls in their poo .
Nice one Robert!
Very nice Robert , and very well painted.

Denise Cat on 06/10/2021 17:33:53 Denise - well, the badgers didn't know what day it was either, so I think they'd be more than happy if you were to give it a go too.
Well Robert, you won't believe it, someone has asked me to paint them a Buddha for their new house they are about to move into. They said they will pay me, well I never. Obviously I've never painted one before but that's like most things I paint. I looked at some photos of traditional Buddha and I think I can do it. They want a large painting so I'm off to Cas art for a canvas this afternoon. I'm doing it in acrylic. I'm excited about doing it but of course if they don't like it, they don't have to have it.I will do a badger at some point. It's on my list. I can't believe someone has asked me to do a painting and pay for it, not in my wildest dreams.
Denise lm not surprised that you have been asked to do a painting , it’s a recognition of how talented you are , go for it and hopefully it’s the start of many more.
Lovely badger Robert.  Congratulations Denise. I have painted a Buddha, but it is the one which sits in my garden.  I gave it an under coat of red, followed by a coat of thin black and then sponged over the high lights with gold, resulting in a bronze effect.  I learnt this technique in a sculpture class- I knew it would come in handy one day.
That’s great news Denise! First commission of many I reckon!   Paul your badger is really good and it’s great to see you tackling such diverse subjects recently!
That's if it turns out Gillian, I'll show you all once it's done. The word commission, it just doesn't register with me but I guess it will be, imagine that. I bet I make a pigs ear of it.
Just be sure they want a Buddha, and not one of those cheerily cherubic Chinese gods that appear all over the place but aren't Buddhas at all.  Different culture, different origin.
