I'm getting a bit worried about Alan, who has been a prolific contributor to the Gallery and Forum and whom we've not seen for a few weeks - could be he's on holiday of course, many are at this time of year: but if you're out there, Alan, you are missed by all of us, I'm sure, and certainly by those whose major interest is oil painting. Does anyone have any news of him, I wonder? http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
I haven't seen anything on the gallery either . He could be on holiday......come back Alan you are missed .
The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated... Ha, ha, or something along those lines. Thank you for your concern, I have been taking a break in the hope of recharging my batteries, having encountered a total lack of inspiration for painting, something which I am sure happens to us all at times, this time for me has lasted a little longer than normal. The only artwork that I have been working on are some small pen and watercolour scenes, nothing very interesting but I will post a few of them to get back to my normal routine within the gallery. I am hoping to start again on my oil painting over the weekend, I have missed the smell of the oil paint and turps wafting around the place, life's blood for me, but not for everyone of course. I also look forward to commenting once more on my fellow artists' work on the gallery so once again my thanks and best wishes to you.
Good to hear from Alan and yes we all get that feeling. I have only been sketching for some time now but have a project in mind and a deadline too. Trouble is I will be away from the easel from tomorrow till possibly Sundy 18th so will have a week to do it.
Good to learn you are well and suffering nothing worse than a lack of inspiration. I've lacked inspiration most of my life, in many respects apart from art, but have tried to prosper nonetheless. The best means of overcoming a painting block in my case is to attempt something different. It doesn't always work but has sometimes taken me in an interesting direction. All the best.
Phew.... so pleased it was only a blockage !!!!!!!
