At the risk of repeating old topics...I am keen to start oil painting again and was going to use water based oils to avoid the smell of the additives floating around the house. I've seen so many different views on no-smell additives, poor choice in water based paints etc and bearing in mind I know nothing, would like to have experienced users' views. Can I use 'standard' oils and avoid smells? Are water based oils a poor substitute? Help! I don't know which way to go.
