So we have arrived in June (how did that happen!) and we have a new area for our monthly challenges. So for June the idea is all about recycling. You can either incorporate recycled materials into a mixed media painting, paint or draw something that fits the theme or recycle an old work into something completely new. The choice is yours - look forward to seeing what you all come up with!

I've just painted over a portrait of our German model Dagmar. I was never happy with it - she was wearing her traditional german dirndl red dress and holding a cross. It had a pale blue background so that has become the sky. the painting is now a beech tree in autumn. Hope to be able to post it soon.

I like this challenge, has lots of potential to try something different.
I’ve chosen to recycle an old quink ink and bleach experiment....mainly strengths of both and their reaction to water. I later added some print work over the top and have now dipped my toes into collage.
I’ve never done any collage before and I have been very sparse with it on this occasion. I hope to have another go, I have lots of failed material to practice on.

Jenny, Gillian.....thanks to you both for your comments. I have to admit it was easier....on this occasion....than I thought it might be but that would depend on the extent of how much detail, size, intricacy I suppose.
Starting off with a simple one has encouraged me to try another......I have millions of ideas racing around my head!
