We all start paintings in a different way....I block in the shapes and tones first. I've plucked up courage to start the larger version of my little oil study. Just started this, will do a bit more then a luvverly G and T. "First trim" take 2 Bother! Came out sideways, but you get the gist.
it's a great start Marjorie and I think your method is wise =)

Looking good already Marjorie.
I like the space that you have left Marjorie, altogether shaping up nicely. (pun intended!). The challenge here is to ensure that the main focus remains on your GD, and not in conflict with the HD, but you know that anyway!.
You're really rather good at this lark, aren't you? Mind you, I'm sending you my osteopath's bill, what with putting my neck out looking at it sideways.... Well done on the G & T, too: I've just bought mine for the weekend. I only had half a bottle in the fridge, and was this enough, I asked myself? No, I replied, panicking. So there we are...I wonder how many paintings gin has fuelled in its time. Have you been asked to do one of the demos that Dawn gets a few of us together to do from time to time, to go out with the newsletter? I haven't caught up with all of them - only this would be a very good step by step demonstration. Take a look here Dawn, I'm waving for your attention...
These demo's for Dawn are great fun, if not a bit time consuming. I've got yet another one coming up in May I believe, haven't started it yet but I know the title. This has progressed really well Marjorie, the HD being positioned slightly behind your GD has taken away any conflict which was my concern earlier. Of course I had great confidence in you pulling this together; I too, would welcome a WIP from you in the e-newsletter. AB
Cleaning...women's work...once upon a time. I clean our toilets these days and vacuum the ground floor so get to it Marjorie. The work is looking good once old gits like Robert and I sort our necks out. I offered to pick him up last week and take him out for a G&T whatever but I think he was too well into them.
LOLOLOLOL!!!
