I've given up....don't like it...stamp stamp, failure,gone wrong....At least  I have learned what I should have done.
Nowt wrong with that Sylvia , stop stamping your foot . I do realise that if there is a mistake that’s all you notice but no one’s else does.
Mmmmm kind of you Paul... I think I'm all inktensed out ,  I do have another thought on how to do it. But after the ironing I think I will get my acrylics out .
The colours are lovely, Sylvia, and the flowers are beautifully done.  (Out of interest, which bit don’t you like?)

I've over done the greens and darks....will probably crop this one have another go...
I think you have done a fine job Sylvia and I can't see anything wrong or anything I dislike about it. It really is beautiful.
Thanks all ...I truly wasn't fishing for nice comments but thanks.  In my head it's just not what I was trying to do, I prefer my sketch in my sketch book.  Will shove it in a corner for a while , I will have another go soon.
I think I know what you were after with this, having seen your sketchbook preparatory work - and I can see that you haven't achieved that objective, in that this is much stronger and intense than I think you were looking for.  It's still a strong image in its own right, though - and many of us would have been happy to have done something as good. But of course try again - that's what this business is all about, constant practice, revision, re-thinking.  I look foward to your next iteration!
It's too heavy ...and yes I prefer my sketch book effort.
If we're not happy with it we're not happy with it! Though it looks fine to me. A wide mount would change your opinion I think, it would distance your view and the strong image would recede.
Why don’t you put it to one side for a couple of weeks - you might feel differently about it then.

Our Sylv knows what she wants - and knows when she's not reached her ideal.  Her judgement is good - I don't think we can really teach her much, or console her: she just knows when something hasn't done what she wanted - I might console others, but Sylvia knows what she's doing; she knows she's right about this - let us give her sufficient respect to accept that she DOES know: the picture works, but not as she intended it.  She'll have another crack at it, and she'll achieve what she wanted to; our Sylvia is, if not a perfectionist, at the very least one who aspires to do her very best. Now, what on earth is my point here?  Well - I don't wish to flatter La Sylv, but at the same time you'll never be able to console her by saying that something works very well if she doesn't think it's achieved what she wanted it to: and that's the difference between an artist, who can judge their own work, and a dilettante, who will suck up praise to silence the internal voice of criticism.  This, Sylvia, is the greatest praise you'll ever get from me, but at least you'll know it's meant, and it's the highest I can give.   You are an artist.
