looking at the David Hockney thread, a couple of folk have met, and spoken to D H, and commented on what a pleasant person he is.
Many,very many years ago, I spent a short time at what was then Rochdale art school (till my dad decided that I would be better off training for a "proper job". One day I was in a Life drawing class, and who came in but L S Lowry. No one knew him in those days , he was a friend of the principal. . He looked over my shoulder at my attempt and "harrumphed" (didnt know I could write harumph) shook his head and went on to the next student. Oh, Oh why didnt I just get his monika onto a bit of paper?
