There were all sorts of clues, obvious to most of us - it does make you wonder why the Swinley Group didn't notice any of them before posting it: and then defended a photograph as an example of 'great skill' in using oil paint. They even got the artist's name wrong - by cropping off the last part of it.
I'm afraid this was sheer stupidity and incompetence on their part, showing a complete ignorance of the artist's style apart from anything else: but at least the image has gone.
On the credit side, it does prove that you can't fool artists that a photograph is a painting: this time, it wasn't done deliberately - that's not always the case.
