Here’s my childhood memories pic of growing up in Cardiff in the 60s and 70s! Obviously the sun always shone and we played outdoors most of the time, cricket in the road ( not many cars then!), tennis, hopscotch, hula hoop, marbles etc.. the car is my dads Morris 8 which I learned to drive in, and the lighthouse is at Roath Park Lake, one of my favourite places and about a mile from where we lived. The lighthouse is a memorial to captain Scott who sailed to the Antarctic from Cardiff in 1910.

That is wonderful, Tessa, so many childhood memories to view. I can remember having to put on my best clothes when mam took me on a Christmas shopping trip to Cardiff.
So different, these days.
Smashing work :)
I'll have a look through the family album and have a go. My parents not being able to afford holidays during the school holidays, walking the hills and stopping for a picnic was the thing to do, and they made it a fun adventure.

One of my strongest childhood memories is having tangerines for the first time. My dad was in the RAF and we were living in Germany in 1954 food was still on rationing. One of the aircrew flew in from somewhere in the med and smuggled a couple of sacks of fruit for the kids Christmas party. Never tasted as good since, I dare say the sacks were bigger than the one I’ve painted. I’ve been lucky to have spent my childhood living in Germany, France and Cyprus, lots of fun mostly playing cowboys and Indians, and of course war games.

Though I did this with Pinot Grigio by my side listening to a bit off that Beethoven person . Good music to slap the crayon on to .
