Just received this as an e mail!!!!!!!!!! Has anyone else had one ? Hello please i saw you and your portfolio online but i have lost it,so please i would so much appreciate it if you could assist me by re-sending me the link and also would like to know if i could make a direct purchase of your works from you via email for my personal use,so thanks so much for taking time to read my email and i patiently await your response. Regards Jason .
So, they can find your e-mail address but can't Google the rest of you. There are warnings about art scams going around, so best to act with caution.
Just deleted the exact same e mail from someone called Jason too, perhaps he's working his way through POL. The trash folder is the best place for him I think. Val
Be deeply, deeply suspicious. To start with, he's talking cobblers - if he wants to find you on here he really doesn't need you to send him the link. He hasn't got to me yet - and Jason: don't bother.
I've not had this particular email, but I had one last week from a Muhamed in Saudi re my A&I gallery. He wanted a ' firm price' for 50 of my paintings. I have ignored it!.
Be very, very, suspicious. It has all the looks of a scam.
They're active just at the moment - got one purporting to come from Paypal, opening line being "Dear Valued Recipient..." - in other words, we don't actually know who you are but trust us, we're really really Paypal and only good will come if you click on this link we've kindly provided for you. We're not scammers, oh no .... Go and get a job...........
Blah can't paste a link in here... Try http://www.artscams.com Oh yes I can I see how to do it...Yeh!
Always be suspicious of e-mails from people you do not know. Do not open the e-mail and most definitely do not click on links and do not open attachments. Worms, viruses, malware and more will be waiting to attack your PC. At present there are a few going round asking for help with lots of money which happens to be waiting for you in their bank accounts. Ignore and delete.
