Am I  the  only one ?    My eyes are getting worse I am now  registered partially sighted I have no central vision at all it's all a blur hence daft spelling mistakes.    I have just painted this and it's junk. Any other members have eye problems and have any advice for me please .  Larger, smaller, brighter, darker...acrylic, watercolour....I don't know. I spend a lot of my life prevaricating...advice please...NO sympathy...
It’s not actually junk at all Sylvia. If you hadn’t said that….. Larger studies I would say, bright colours - larger brushes? I have lost vision in both eyes ( glaucoma) but luckily in a different area of each eye or I would be stymied. One compensates for the other at the moment. Try not to get too down, I know it’s easy to say….have a go at a larger study etc and see if it’s any easier.
I'll have it Sylvia. A dark green frame will do it justice, I love the colours. I was misdiagnosed with Glaucoma this time last year, but specialists said it was only slight, no more than most.  I do have encroaching cataracts.  But my eyesight has always been crap since birth, so I can't do detail at all well. I'd be happy with that though!
I agree with Marjorie that's definitely not junk , I might be different to what you normally paint but don’t think it’s junk because of that . Certainly go bigger and see what work as regards paint etc , watercolour or acrylic I think might be better than oils . Whatever you decide do t give up just yet you can and do still produce some excellent artwork.
It must be so frustrating Sylvia. I have just found an article on Artsy.net called ' How artists fighr vision loss and continue to make new work'. I would link the article for you but I don't know how to do it x
Should read 'fight'
Ladies thank you...this time last year I was driving I had a crap eye but one that was...ok now it's dry macular and and a retinal occlusion in the other ....I am having a whinge.   Yes Marjorie a larger canvas etc is a good idea...  I'm just being a misery...Norrette. Thanks.   Actually I look funny walking Sam I h@ve big anti glare glasses...no white stick yet and Sam is learning to be a guide dog.
Oh Diane I will look..ha ha for that I know I cannot possibly be alone.🌻
If you can, strengthen the vertical strokes - it isn't crap, but stronger verticals would help to push the bits that need pushing back to where they'd more usefully sit. My maculars are still where they ought to be, and functioning: I had an eye surgeon generally known to have been the best in the business: he's retired now, but I hope he trained someone to be as good as he was; this was a fair few years ago now - nearly twenty - and I've been grateful to him and the NHS ever since.  I know you won't take sympathy - and I agree, it wouldn't do any practical good!  One day, there may be effective treatment for this, but brilliant though the surgeons are - well, you know they can't perform miracles; and you stay just about as positive as anyone with your history could be; so if you won't have sympathy, at least have a quick bask in praise.
You seem to be adapting very well Sylvia. There is no other option, when changes are occurring. We are programmed to seek solutions to our problems. I have Todd's syndrome. It affects my balance and distorts my vision regularly.
Tis a tight bugger. Tis.   Don't know Todd's syndrome Senisee.   Bigger ,bolder ,better...an aim.   Yes Robert those vertical lines could use some attention.
