Thought it best to post this here rather than in the Gallery comments. It seems that Denise's painting "She" might cause offence in some quarters, so here's a Catholic view: I see a semi-naked woman in her thirties (must be because women never go beyond 39) obviously who goes to the Gym or rides an exercise bike as she has a perfect 36-24-36 figure with a chest that doesn't need the support of a bra or such frivolity. Her body is toned with a Strictly Come Dancing tan with not a wrinkle in sight. (Must use Boots No 7 range cos the wife does and she's never wrong) and her facial make is up perfect with no worry lines. She is very modern with stick-on eyebrows and salon quality eyeliner, make-up and lipstick,  and her diaphanous Bon Marche see through lingerie is certainly bedroom only. Her hair is carefully brushed and surmounted with an Art Deco ornamental crown with a couple of flowers for added effect. Finally, she poses in front of a metal sculpture that someone probably nicked from a Church.  The whole thing is very nicely painted, so what exactly is there to be offended about...Some folk, I ask you....(-:
Was anyone offended?  I've not seen that, must go and look.  I had views on the picture, but wasn't offended by it - if anything, I'm just not sure I "got it".
No one who has commented on Denise’s has been negative about the painting!  So not sure why this thread has been started! I  personally think it’s a great piece of art.
Thanks all, of course Jim, women didn't go without makeup, even two thousand years ago. I was going to put her in a pair of jeans. I definitely wanted it to have modern tones to it. I've had a positive response but of course, I would understand if people thought otherwise. I paint for myself, not for how others feel how concepts of a subject should be laid down. I think that's what we all do. Here it is Robert. I decided it was time to move on.
Denise it could be We all have across to bare
If someone can delete the post I'm fine with that. I misread the mood and meant no offence to either Denise or the Forum. .
Jim, I have taken no offence, I enjoyed reading your comments.
