I’ve always found it difficult to throw things away ( the product of a certain age group) so I’m super happy today! Getting a new fridge freezer tomorrow and the old one will be recycled -BUT not before I’ve kept back 2 freezer drawers, a deep one for storage and the top shallow one for a spacious palette. How “cool” is this? Pretty “ chilled” I’d say.

I forgot to take my palette to art group once and ended up taking one of the A4 laminated notices off the wall as a substitute……🤭…..it worked.
Ferraro Rocher chocolate box lid, the large box of course, my favourite kind of recycling!
Marjorie, you could end up with a list of weird and wonderful recycling ideas from your thread.

Marjorie - great idea. I have several palettes; most are in wood, one was made for me by my partner at the time, so of course I treasure it, and another is in melamine, which I should probably use more often, but I'm (stupidly) afraid to spoil it. I absolutely agree about having a BIG one - a small workspace, like small brushes, and niggardly piles of paint, encourage a mean and pinched approach. No danger of that with your adaptation of a piece of kitchen equipment.
