Hi, does anyone know what’s happening at Patchings?  I submitted a picture for the A5 exhibition before Christmas but never heard anything back; my email has gone unanswered and now the website says it’s under new ownership and temporarily closed.  If anyone had any contacts there I would like to know what happened to my painting.
That’s not good Emma! Very disappointing when you’ve sent in a submission. Patchings has been sold and as far as I know, under new management as of now! That’s my understanding of the situation anyway. I was initially informed that this years TALP competition would not be going ahead, but recent communication by Warners to this forum, now advise us that it is actually going to go ahead. This is good news for many of us, and we’re waiting for a date to be announced. As for this A5 competition, which I wasn’t aware of, I would suggest that you contact Warners… Ask them to look into why you didn’t receive any correspondence from Patchings. This is the email address, they are very helpful and I’m sure will respond back to you. You don’t need to address it to any particular person…this is monitored by the management. [email protected]

Thanks Alan.
I know a few of you (Emma in particular), and I’m sure Marjorie will be interested, have been asking if this year’s TALP/Patchings competition and event is going ahead. Warners did recently advise me that it would be going ahead, although I did have my doubts. Anyway, I’ve just received this month’s newsletter from Two Rivers Paper Mill down in Somerset - fabulous hand-made paper as many of you will already be aware! I know Fiona uses it from time to time for her watercolours. They have put out a message that Patchings WON’T be taking place this year… so I’m taking this as being official. If anyone is interested in receiving The Two Rivers monthly newsletter, just go to the website and let them have your details. I was very pleased to see that I’d had a mention in this month’s edition, along with one of my Turner inspired sketches. Once you’ve registered with them, you can send in your artwork for possible inclusion in the newsletter… provided of course that you’ve used their paper! I’ve had three at least of my artworks published over the years. Alan
Thanks Alan for the info. Does that mean that the TALP open will go ahead but not at Patchings?
No Marjorie, I take it as not going ahead anywhere this year.’  As to future events at Patchings, perhaps we could get some clarification from the Warners team - that would have been helpful in this instance, rather than hearing the news from a third party! If I hear anything of interest I’ll report back!
