Well Dave wouldn't we all like to know.. what medium are they ? What size are they? Are they framed?
I have a slotted partitioned cupboard under the stairs...it's full....I have stuff under beds ...full, storage boxes...full. On paper use a folio with plastic divisions, I also have some padded bags called Stiffy bags which double fo taking pics to exhibitions.
Take care when stacking them that they are back to back so fittings don't damage your work.
A good question with lots of possible answers, forgive me if I have a sly smile.

There’s lots of solutions, building a few racks for one / but we don’t know what space you have available!
For instance, I’ve got several walk- in type cupboards which I have built wooden racks to store my large canvases and boards.
I’ve also got a fairly large utility room split into two sections divided by a door… the end part I’ve fitted out with metal racks with shelves, and cupboards.
I’ve probably got something like 200 oil paintings of various sizes, close on 100 watercolours at a conservative estimate, and 5 x A1 and 2 x A0 portfolios crammed with old college work, many are life drawings/paintings on paper mainly which I don’t want to discard!
It’s not easy but I don’t advise putting anything in the loft.

Always a problem - you'll find lots of advice about not stacking oil paintings on top of each other, and it's good advice IF you've got the space. With most of mine, I get them framed and up on the wall if I think they're any good; I have relatives who reasonably regularly descend and buy from me, a few friends ditto, and I give some away as presents - you have to be careful there: I only give paintings away to relatives or close friends who I know will like them, and have probably requested them: I won't use my relatives as convenient dropping-off points.
What you want, and what I want, is a gallery to take them, show them, AND - sell them. At present, I don't have one.

I do have representation, a gallery and online through Artfinder. But they can’t take or even hope to sell the volume that I churn out each year - hence the need for storage!
That’s the nature of the beast I’m afraid, Joe Public just aren’t buying art like they used to!
On a positive note, I did sell an oil painting via Artfinder over the Christmas period!
