Mine's at the post office, to pick up tomorrow. (Along with Martin Rowson's Graphic art on 'The Communist Manifesto' )
I sent for two, also, Norrette. Sketching for the Absolute Beginner - Peter Cronin. Peter's work has a lovely gentle touch to it.

I'll look him up. Thanks Carol Edit: I also picked up The Landscape Painters Workbook, by Mitchell Albala. It focuses on shape, composition and colour, with an emphasis on tone, values and simplification, rather than say, this is how to oil paint, or watercolour etc.  Having just skimmed it, I'd recommend.

Martin Rowson has dropped himself into a bit of trouble lately, falling into the unintentional antiSemitic trap; but he's a great cartoonist; and we can all be prisoners of our internal images - that's internal to the brain.....  I don't want to see anyone's internal organs. Norrette will know what I mean!
Yes, I do. I ordered his book for the sake of posterity, thinking he may retire.  But thankfully it seems he's back in September. I view him as one in the Hogarthian tradition. Mistakes, misteps, warts n all, he's necessary.
This is the fronts piece of my copy of The addictive sketcher.
