Indeed, we all have them. Mine - which you can accept or throw into the refuse - is that there is a distinct difference between soft pornography and a genuine study of the human figure.  When I see the former, I will object to it because I find it exploitative, voyeuristic, and repellent.  Some who post here on the Gallery find this reaction ... whatever they find it; upsetting?  Insulting?  Well, perhaps they do: frankly, I don't care.  I believe that SOME of those who show this stuff know exactly what they're doing: whereas some who support them are merely naive.   You can make your own judgement: I've made mine - I have no respect for your work when this is what you choose to do with it.  And - frankly, I find it offensive to see it on this site, because I believe it's cynical - by the way: I don't have the slightest problem with hard-core pornography, because at least no one is pretending it's anything other than what it very obviously is.  Can't say I'd like to see it on POL, mind - but I don't find its feeble-minded cousin any more acceptable either.  I'd ban all of it.
The thing I find strange is that some people can’t see the difference between the two - that’s when I say ‘ we don’t speak the same language’……and it’s why I don’t pursue a discussion about it, at least not online. If we were in the same room it would be a different matter….I agree with your views Robert.
Both Peter and I are full grown adults and easily know the difference between pornography and figure study.. I am Sixty years old for God's Sake..  We just disagreed with Robert's Opinion or offered a different perspective... I have studied the human anatomy all my life, which is why, not to be immodest, I am as good as I am at painting people..  We disagreed with Robert, so he got angry and decided to lash out... Perhaps he believes his opinion is the only one that matters or that he is always right...  he's not..   I always paint Women to be beautiful and sometimes I paint them to be sexy.. nothing wrong with that.. Beautiful Women are Sexy...  If I paint really beautiful women accurately, or try to represent them as being the most perfect versions of themselves that they can be, it does not mean I am painting porn... I am confident in saying that the Women who have seen some of the women I paint, would absolutely love to be that beautiful in real life.. and if they were that beautiful in real life, I'm sure they couldn't wait to show themselves off to the World...  I'm also sure they would use their great beauty to get ahead in life.. nothing wrong with that either.... Use what you have..
I'm with you Eric, well said. Surely the nice thing about POL is that we can disagree without falling out with each other, we're all grown ups after all.

If it's opinions you are after. Here is mine. Your "beautiful"  women  should be  in a girlie magazine on the top shelf  of  the news agents .   Your comments about women are sexist and  objectionable .  I am even more grown up than you by 22 years and can pick  up a pencil go to a life class and draw whoever the model is without upserttubg anyone at all.   Can you ?.... The Potato eaters by Van Gogh  I used to illustrate what a great artist can do with poverty and deprivation...and you walk on by.
Women don't have breasts as large as are being portrayed and if they do, they are implants. Not very sexy when they are walking around on a zimmer frame with osteoarthritis of the spine.

The potato eaters may be great art but I wouldn't want it on my wall, it's hideous. I would happily hang any of Eric's work on my wall to look at every day.  Look at his gallery, he's done a huge range of different pictures, all of them excellent. Could you be biased because they are digital and not done with paint and brushes? Denise, that was one picture out of dozens. Is 'The birth of Venus' soft porn? Olympia by Manet, or Venus by Titian? Where do you draw the line? My simple rule is that if you don't like a picture don't look at it. Just my opinion, I'm not looking to be controversial or upset anyone.

My beautiful women should be thought of in the proper context.. ie. Goddess Aphrodite, Elves, Vampires, Helen Of Troy, as to whether they belong in a girlie magazine or not. Which I doubt you gave any real thought to...  How are my comments about women sexist?   As to Van Gogh, not everything he painted is beautiful or inspirational... simply because he is Van Gogh... That painting and Van Gogh are both depraved.. And Yes, I can go to a life class and draw without upsetting anyone. Used to go every week in Georgia for a few years.. Many gesture drawings and model work.... In fact I have also won 28 Art contest over the years competing against hundreds of Artist...

Sorry....this is just becoming farcical....off to feed my chucks...
It's easy to have an opinion, slightly harder, often, to give voice to it in public and bl**dy difficult to respect other people's opinions when they differ from your own.  I am with Peter, let's disagree and not fall out.  Perhaps one of the good things, perhaps the only good thing, about the speed with which painting disappear off page  1 of the gallery is, if you don't like something, it soon disappears.  If it is on page one, ignore it, don't click, that will just encourage more.  If it has disappeared into the older pages, don't chase it, it won't hurt you and few other people will bother to seek it out.   I do find some of the pictures on the gallery overtly and unnecassarily sexualised, and have done for several years - so it is not just recent posts.  Yet my opinion is mine, it isn't the same as Robert's, nor Sylvia's, nor Erics.  I may not agree with them, but I would defend their right to have a voice.
Not True Denise... There are lots of women who are naturally quite large without implants, professional models or not...   They are not unrealistic... bigger than average perhaps, not unrealistic... In my early twenties, I had a beautiful Hispanic Girlfriend with M-cup size breast.. all natural.. I was 21, she was 18....
Believe me Tony this conversation for me, was over a week ago... But someone,... Robert, ..keeps dredging it up...  My Persian Belly Dancer Painting Post was about a week and a half ago, on the gallery for less than a day...   He just needs to have the last word... and naturally his friends want to support whatever he says...
