Thank you everyone for your input, I do feel a bit guilty as it sounded like I was doing some finger wagging, I assure you that wasn’t my intention. As to the muddle between the monthly challenge and the sketch a day challenges I take full responsibility for that , I intend dropping the monthly challenge due to very little response and taking up a comment made about nit known what to sketch I opened the first monthly list for sketch a day . A couple of people mentioned that they missed the monthly challenge so I jumped on the   bandwagon and set one up , in retrospect not a bright idea . Having read the comments made , I will post a sketch a day challenge August as Jenny has kindly put a list together, in September I will reintroduce the sketch a day when you can , leaving it to run and folk adding as and when they wish. The monthly challenge I will leave until October time and then ask if you want it starting up for a few month . Once again thank you  for the feedback , I am aware that we are all busy and have other projects on the go , I like you never have enough time to do most thing I would like too , so please don’t  feel obliged to take part or guilty if you don’t . I do think there is a general apathy about at the moment, not just here on this site but in general, not sure why or if it’s just the exceptionally hot humid weather getting to us all .  I will go hide in my hole for a while and contemplate something or other.

I notice the new intro at the head of the Gallery which is well done and encourages participation. Maybe the powers that be could do something similar on the Forum where there is nothing to pull people in.

Hi everyone I kept the’ Sketch a day or just a blether ‘ going for a couple of years. I loved doing it but since I have Parkinson’s things can sometimes get in the way! However Thats not to be seen as an excuse because I firmly believe  get on with it and enjoy life and you creativity. So I could  rehatch August Sketch a day if you can or just a blether if not! It never bothered me if people just dipped in occasionally  it was up to the member to sketch what they wanted to share.

Gill, it will be good to have you back at the helm. I wont start the sketch a day challenge in August if you are going to run a sketch a day , as it will be too confusing if both running at the same time . Will keep Jenny’s list for a special occasion if she is ok with that .

Quick reply - I know it's disheartening when you start a thread and no one joins it (or anyway, not many do) but for my part I've found the plethora of challenges confusing - maybe if I thought a bit harder about them, they wouldn't be - I've had a lot of things to do in my private (and political - you don't want to know about that!) life, and I just don't get on with the Summer heat.  I do draw nearly every day, but I draw as try-outs for paintings, not to achieve finished drawings fit to put a frame around; and am not too happy about sharing my doodles. I will though, if there's any appetite for that: but drawing to a theme - I've never been the least good at that: if it doesn't interest me on the day, I won't do it.  I do look at others' work though - it's not all sweetness wasted on the desert air, as the poet has it (all too frequently .... sorry, too much Round the Horne on YouTube).   So say not the struggle naught availeth - though the people drawn in to the Forum always were a minority of those subscribed to POL - not everybody has the capacity to write or the interest in doing so; whereas some of us, naming no names but looking in the mirror, can gabble on without let or hindrance.
