I'm very excited at the moment because I'm enthused! Went to The Colourists exhibition in Berwick and loved all of it but especially a Still Life by Cadell. Thought I'd set up a similar one with a painting I love, by A friend, Maureen Stephenson. The lilies have died ( but I took a photo ) and I'll change the pattern to a blue one on the biscuit jar. Hope you can see the card by Cadell. Early stages yet. What a difference it makes when you paint what excites you.
The gremlins have attacked ( it's come out sideways ) but you get the gist.

From what I can see of it Marjorie by twisting my neck it looks a really promising start, a strong design and I'm liking the palette so far.
Inspiration is vital, if you paint or draw without it your work will probably look uninspired, mine certainly does and that is the situation for me at the moment, hence my lack of posting recently. I've done stacks of oil paintings over the past couple of weeks, mostly studio work and I don't like any of them, not one is fit for human consumption... Yes they are all 'nice little paintings' but that's not what I'm after, what I'm after isn't happening for me but I will keep going.
So good for you Marjorie and long may your inspiration last.
