Hallo! I’m conducting a scientific study to investigate the effect of knowledge on art perception. I want to explore if people enjoy art more if they receive background information about the artist weeks before they view his paintings. My problem is: I need a set of about 15 pictures (digital) inclusively a very short description for each picture which provides background information about it and helps the viewer to interpret it. The artist shouldn’t be extremely beknown jet because the paintings should be new for the people who participate in the study.   Can you recommend a specific artist or source that provides such material (e.g. a book or website that provides descriptions of a larger number of works of one not world-renowned artist); or do you have such material of your own work? (The medium should be paintings or drawings.) Many Thanks!

Donald, may I ask… what is this scientific study linked to? Where is it based? Is it part of a qualification?
Interesting initiative. I'd say that it does make a difference (most museums present descriptions and author biography, so there must me something to it), but I'm curious to see some data about it, too. __________________________________________________

Yes…. but no info has been forthcoming……
.....and it appears that the original poster hasn't returned after five days to discover what replies have been made.  Perhaps he is unwell, or it can't have been that important.
Probably one of those one hit wonders, or am I being cynical!?
Glad that I didn’t put any effort into replying, I had got a few suggestions - too late now… I’m out!
