I just graduated from school and did not know what to do.
I would say get a job as an apprentice doing something you think you will like. Or go to university to get a useful degree with maybe being an art teacher in mind. If you dont know what to do nobody can tell you. Nobody told meand I had a successful career in Engineering.Scraping a living as a painter didnt appeal to me. Best of luck....Syd
Vincent Van Gogh couldn't feed himself; there's a lesson there. Professional painters, ie those who can and do make a good living these days, work there way there on their success, not decide how they'll have the world at their feet from self-promotion. I'd get a day job and don't give it up. Politics is a field always looking for intelligent folk....😆
Sounds like a lot of money wasted on an education. Try McDonalds, about one in four applicants for burger-flipping McJobs is a Graduate apparently
Many arts graduates take a teacher training course, so that they can always have an income as well pension if they teach in schools. Selling work is often on the side of their main job. Some, but few eventually leave their teaching job if selling the paintings goes well.
