Vibrancy plus! That’s for the previous one. Looked up the one above - “ neo gothic”. It has a feeling of Grant Wood’s. Slightly unsettling but not sure why.

Yes, fairly modern. If the characters look otherworldly, which they do,  the artist wouldn’t have got through art university.  Everything had to fit as if it’s always been there. If you are trying to make an otherworldly piece then how would you do it in those days? My mind boggles

Duplicated again!

The last painting above is by Andrea Kowch, we looked at her work on the Inspirations thread a few years ago.  Her work, while painted realistically, has a slightly surreal feel to it and is often described as ‘magical realism’ with a dreamlike quality to it.

I love Grant Wood's 'American Gothic' but I'm not impressed by anything else I've seen by him. Andrea Kowch is an amazing artist.
The Lady with the Veil , The Lady with the Fan or The Veiled Lady - take your pick, by Alexander Roslin
Didn’t see this Russel. Great!
I'd love to know the story behind the last one - I mean, I've had spots; I still have a few skin tags (awkward things - might even mar my beauty): but I wouldn't particularly want them painted in a portrait; was this a medical illustration, or of a deeper meaning whose depth I can't plumb?
Peppered, bordering on the grotesque, but love it
