Thanks Pat, it is an important issue for many of us.
Mark David Hatwood, Proprietor of The Harbour Gallery, and several websites, has written a very informative article on GDPR in the July edition of The Artist. He's kept it in simple language that even I can understand, and is well worth reading.
He also diverts you to other helpful sites for small businesses, so that you don't fall foul of these new EU laws on Friday.

Neither my website nor my blog collect personal data - I don't keep a database of customers, and have no mailing list. I'm hopeful therefore that I don't need to do anything - on the other hand, I do have a small number of supporters on the blog: but no personal data on any of them other than (damn, I sense a flaw) their email addresses.
It does seem a fairly ludicrous bit of legislation to me, but there we are. I shall read the article and see if I need to act.
