Lovely painting Margaret.
Here are a couple of mine from a while ago, took a bit of finding! The chap with the beard was due to sit for our art group but never turned up and we were told he had been detained by the police! Apparently he’s a bit of a local character but we never found out the details. The lady in the hat is Jane who has sat for another art group several times but this was the first time I felt I had really captured her look. Some people are definitely much harder than others to paint!

Some excellent portraits here by everyone, each so different.

Little old me Sylvia! Ta muchly.(and Simon)
Yes they are great - it is amazing how much  hat adds to a portrait.
Sorry Tessa my age clicked in .... fab pics.  Clever you.
Thanks girls. When I went to art college at 17 I fancied doing portraits. Never happened! That’s life.
Very good portraits Tessa. The first one, I really like as it does what it does in a simple way. The guy in the beard sounds like a bit of a “Greengrass” character.
Fantastic portraits everyone. You all have hidden talent, portraits are not my style, but I do like to try things out of my comfort zone. So here is a pastel picture of a friend with his new born daughter.
Good one Alan, lots of emotion in this one.   Everyone else's work is also so good and especially for those who don't normally do portraits.   Ask me to do a landscape and I would be AWFUL at it!
