So sorry to hear such awful news Sylvia , just keep dabbling the paint on and we will enjoy your work.m
I am sure you do as well painting with dodgy sight as Beethoven did writing music with dodgy hearing....as your 'Along the Lane' posting shows.
Awe thank you Tony...you have given me a lot to live up to .
Best wishes and keep painting Sylvia.
George thank you.
Sorry to hear this Sylvia and I am also glad to hear your are adapting to your situation and that you will continue to paint because it is important to carry on doing the things important to you.
Rotten news Sylvia - I know about health and eyes. Not the same but …..
Sorry to hear to this Sylvia, hoping it doesn't increase too quickly. Enjoy your impressionism, throw your paint with abandon, that's what I call my work anyhow, with no reason for it.
Thanks for your empathy.  🌹
Well, bugger would seem the apt response.....  I saw one of your latest on Facebook just now, and you're still able to make a strong impression.  I know there are two forms of macular degeneration, wet and dry, and that one's a bit less of a pain than the other one - but they're both bad news.  Both my aunt (95 when she left us) and mum (94 and a bit when she followed) had this; I'm hoping I won't get it, but - many of us do.  I know there are treatments, of limited effectiveness: my aunt had hers treated as best they could, my mother decided to stick with the vision she had rather than go for another op.  A friend who had to give up driving in his 80s (a bit of a relief to other road users, be it said) told me that he now took taxis everywhere; he'd always thought this was terribly expensive, until he compared it with the cost of running a car.  You're a bit isolated though, aren't you .... still; try not to let this clip your wings and tie you to the house. If I could say anything more comforting I would - that I can't is the reason I've run on!  You've survived an awful lot in the last few years, though - you'll deal with this.
So sorry to hear this Sylvia. As Robert says there are some treatments which may hopefully help.  In the meantime, know that we are with you, and keep slapping the paint on! xx
