First of all, Denise, very well done for all you have achieved. My input....about 20 years ago I had a tiny local gallery with a friend where we sold our and other local artists' work. It was very exciting at first...then I realised I had to churn out what people wanted - local castles etc. It stopped me painting what I wanted! Also, commissions...horrendous, took up far too much time and fraught with anxiety. Had one very bad experience ( because I'm not business minded). Maybe you have to try things and make your own mind up. But why not join a club which has exhibitions, you can paint what you like and people can decide whether they want to buy . Our club now has a website which is updated regularly , there are only 13 in our club and not everyone participates in the site.( Howickartgroupnorthumberland )
I can only say, don't put pressure on yourself with other' s demands, enjoy your art and find a way to display it on your terms.

You are right Denise. Fulfilling other people’s wishes is a hassle, or can be an interesting challenge. You cannot be all things to all people, so perhaps at this stage you should do what you want until you decide what kind of art you really enjoy most and then advertise that. But the timing is your decision. It sounds as though you could be run ragged trying to please everyone, and sooner or later you will have to say to someone, “Sorry, I don’t do that kind of thing”.
