Fairytale trees - 2012-08-04 10:30 AM Please can anyone tell me how to delete my account and remove my details from this forum site?Kirsty, can you tell us what happened - you know you can always PM me or email - to make you want to do this? You must be very upset even to be considering this, and I also know how upset people will be if you feel you need to withdraw from POL. If someone has targeted you, you don't have to put up with it: whoever it is is in a very unpleasant minority of one and I can promise you the rest of us won't tolerate it.

I was going to save this one for a "spammer" overtake. Nevertheless, there has been a fair bit recently about various "colours", so I'll chuck this in for what it's worth.....
For a long time, I've been suspicious of the "colour theory" that I'd read lots about. Long before I encountered this site, I did no painting but a lot of colour photography, and to get my prints looking good then it was necessary to juggle cyan, yellow and magenta filters. These 3 filters would manipulate all the colours that you might print. I then read lots of stuff on painting - where 3 very different "primary" colours are proposed: Red, Yellow, Blue, quite obviously. So, no real problem - all we have is "subtractive colours" (e.g. filters), or "additive colours", where frequencies of light combine (e.g. TV screens). I never thought more about it.
Ah, but then, through my work, I encountered more detail about computer screens - where the individual elements that made up the picture were apparently Red, Green and Blue. What?? Red, Green and Blue can combine to make any colour? So they are the real primaries, then?? But surely green is a secondary of blue plus yellow??
Apparently not. And I'm still confused.....
So what do the experts think? And what should the colour wheel really be (if at all.......)??
