Name some of the artists whose works you particularly enjoy and whom you find to be less popular than they deserve.
You can include both living and dead artists. It doesn't matter which period or art movement they belong(ed) to.
Feel free to share some thoughts about them and their works if you want to.

Lucian we have a current thread on the forum call Inspiration from Artists that runs weekly . People suggest a artist and I add then to the list for discussion, when it time for them to feature the person who suggested them give a short introduction about the artist . Have a look at the current one that is running and you will soon get the idea of what it’s about. Would be good if you had some fellow countryman that you feel would be worth discussing and even better if they are unknown to us. Look forward to hearing from you .

We have an ongoing thread where artists are displayed and members discuss. Why not have a look and see if you like it .
If you take time to view the thread you will see a wide variety of artists from many countries ,backgrounds and centuries. Woukd be good to see your opinion. .

Contemporary artists, or artists of the past who might have been neglected - or both?
Some artists' reputations have waxed and waned over the years - and vice versa. John McCombs, an artist from Yorkshire, is less well-known than I think he should be. I take it though that if I've heard of an artist, they have had SOME recognition, if not enough - I think some of the Victorian artists have slipped a little too far into obscurity - I THINK the name of one of them Charles (?) Furze, who painted Diana of the Uplands, could do with some investigation - though just because I haven't heard of them lately doesn't mean they're necessarily neglected: there are many thousands of artists, and one can't have encountered all of them.
Have you any in mind yourself? You might have a more European perspective than some of us.
