F--f--f-- full-blown Dutch masterpiece?   If that's what  you want, Madam, I'll send you my scale of charges for commissions  - I was thinking of something small; tasteful; and above all, easy ... I am, of course, a Nartist, with my head in the clouds; but my agent - who coincidentally happens to be myself - is very much down to earth,  aware of the price of fish, disinclined to embrace the spirt of Give, far more comfortable with the prospect of Take.   Now if you'll just put your name to this nice contract I've prepared for you, and forward your substantial deposit, I will deign to reach for the brushes.

A still  life - you know I hate still life; wicked woman, that Marjorie Firth...   I'll  give it thought - actually, I do have a drawing somewhere in my back-record, on the Gallery that is, which qualifies... when Tony Benn died, I drew a mug -  for his ever-present brew of tea - and a pipe: so I could cheat,  and  not do something new....

Totally on a tangent.  My claim to fame is making a cup of tea for the 'elders' - Tony Benn and Walter Wolfgang at a conference.

This is my quickie steam engine - a bit clumsy because I used Unison pastels which are not for fine work. Paint and brush might have suited this better but I thought it was time to get my pastels out again.

Here's one for you Carol, Fiona and Russell - a couple dancing (painted in the style of Renoir if you're feeling brave). I'll paint my challenge picture tomorrow. This is fun! Marjorie has set us a very high bar with her train, it's excellent.

I can be very cruel…..mmm…..ok Russell, a choice between Renoir or a botanical subject 😆. ( Actually, that might not be too hard for you). I’m ready for another challenge….aaagh, what am I saying?
