Annoying, but you can get rid of it as soon as it pops up by hitting the refresh screen option (I use an iPad).

Thanks to Jenny from me too, it was really annoying wasting 30 seconds every time I went to a different part of the site. It isn't as if all of us even do botanical art.

Oh for the days when POL ran competitions regularly, not just painting challenges but some simple promotional competitions with free gifts for the lucky winner.  If I remember there was a link on the banner at the top of the page, no annoying pop up that obscured what you were trying to read.  Why can't this 'BotanicalArt Challenge' be a simple advert on the home page?  At first I assumed Sophie Allport was just a humble artist, didn't realise it was a homewares brand.  Unfortunately this pop up, rather than encouraging me to buy their goods, has done quite the opposite.

Oh for the days when POL ran competitions regularly, not just painting challenges but some simple promotional competitions with free gifts for the lucky winner.  If I remember there was a link on the banner at the top of the page, no annoying pop up that obscured what you were trying to read.  Why can't this 'Botanical Art Challenge' be a simple advert on the home page?  It is curious that twice when I tried to post the original of this comment which included a suggestion that the pop up put me off the co-promoter's products, naming the co-promoter of this competition, it was automatically removed as violating POL guidelines.  Glitch or censorship?.....Fast forward a couple of hours and in all fairness I have to say most likely glitch as one of the 'post removed' notices has been replaced with the original of this message, though the other still remains.

For a couple of days now I keep getting a pop up ad from Painters on line headed "Painters Online  Botanical Art Challenge" It has no cross box to tick to make the pop up disappear - it shows itself on the rhs.  So keeps coming back and covering up a lot of text and artworks. Anyone else having the problem and/or knows how to make it go away permanently please?

I have emailed POL which they obviously won’t look at til tomorrow. Will see if it makes any difference!

Dear all,  Thank you for your feedback, we have updated the pop up to have an option to close it. You may have to refresh your cache in order for this to appear. The pop up advert has currently had 8,500 click throughs to the competition so it is a fantastic way to engage artists who are visiting Painters Online.
