Hi, I am holding an 'Art at the House' Art Fair at the historic Hinchingbrooke House Huntingdon on Sunday 6th April from 11 - 3pm.  I am looking for more artists to showcase their work and would like a wide variety of genres and styles.  If you feel that you have enough work to exhibit, please contact me for more information at  [email protected]   Prices start from around £40 for a 6ft space upto £100.  Please see our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/eventsathbk/ I hope to see you there

I'm interested Marie, I've sent you an e-mail.
I e-mailed Marie last Wednesday morning and have had no reply. I have e-mailed two different addresses since and have had no reply. The phone number on all their publicity does not work. I am trying to give them money!! Has anyone any idea how to get a response from them?
Sorry Peter I can’t help , but to be honest I never thought about replying to them as I’m over cautious about giving my details and money away . It rings my alarm bells when there is no answer to emails or phone numbers, I hope I’m wrong in assuming it’s a scam as I know you are keen to made your work available for sale.  Do let us know if you succeed.
I haven't sent any personal details Paul. The venue is genuine but it's very odd that the phone number doesn't work. If I was a bit closer I'd go down and knock on the door!
The blurb on Facebook refers to "local artists" being required.  Which makes sharing it here possibly a touch redundant, but doubtless that could be explained if they responded to emails .... difficult to know what's going on if they don't.
I would be very wary of responding to an ad like this especially as from a first time poster who is not known to us. Hopefully she will reply soon! 🤞
Looked into this a little further, or as far as I easily can.  Hinchinbrooke House is a comprehensive school with academy status - it has an attached arts centre, which is presumably hired or even run by the organization or person who posted above; if so, it's likely to be something of a one-person band - I see that you have emailed them, and found that the phone number given doesn't work - don't know what more you can do.  I see the word "local" doesn't appear in the post above, but does if you go to the Facebook page.   Mystery deepens.
Well I've finally had a reply; the lady says my e-mail had gone into her junk folder and she doesn't check that as often as she should. She then says she doesn't feel my work is suitable for their event.  How can paintings not be suitable for an art fair?!! If they are that disorganised I think I'm better off not being involved. Grrrrrr!!
It might have helped if they'd said what they actually want; I think Grrrrrr!! is appropriate.
I have thought about removing the initial post and spoke with my fellow moderators about it , we decided to let it stand as it was are related. I still am in favour of removing it and banning the person but will be guided by you  guys .
I should leave it, the messages below will certainly put anyone else off trying to take part.
