83? Good grief Derek....you don't want to be bringing all those back home! That sounds like a logistic nightmare, I wish you more than good luck! Let us know how you get on, hope you enjoy the part in-between arriving and leaving....lol
Thanks Fiona. This has been an exploration of what I had achieved in terms of output. Painting nearly every day since I got back into it from the accident 4 years ago and then the stroke has got this massof stuff. Many are not in mounts and frames of course, but some are as I am showing old work in the old style, when I could paint properly and hopefully they will generate some interest against my card works of late. Luckily the scout hut I am using is no more than 200yds from the front door, so I will be able to pop back and get something I am bound to forget but will use the car to transport everything there safely. First thing on Saturday morning will see me walking the locality placing notices on lamposts and then putting directional signs in the road side verges out at a couple of key junctions.
Sounds all very exciting, lots of work setting these things up of course, let us all know how it goes, can't get down there myself but I do hope that it is a success for you Derek.
Thanks Alan
Sold 4 out of 83, not really good but I enjoyed it apart from long long periods of reading a library book waiting for punters. Got 5 passers by who had seen my signs and banner, two were a couple and 7 supportive friends. The temporary signs worked a treat and that Commander Velcro tape I bought yesterday is brilliant, thanks POL members.
Four out of 83 sound horrid, but - I think you're probably doing better than many of us, so congratulations. Hope you felt it was worth all the work? This is what turns me off the idea: but then - I'm a lazy old wotsit, and you're not. http://www.isleofwightlandscapes.net http://www.wightpaint.blogspot.co.uk
Thank you Robert and Sylvia. The throughput/footfall was very weak, considering my efforts with 5 purpose made road sins, 8 posters on telegraph poles and a big banner on the hut. There were items in two local newsapers, one was quite substantial and the other was buried away in very small print, but they were freebies. I haven't seen what my daughter put out on her FB page. I will donate a 10% of the takings to the scout movement locally once money is in. Two of my pals will pay me today. Two photos attached, o ne outside the other inside before I opened.
I don't think four sales in a day is bad at all, it's better than I, and I suspect most others, have achieved. Well done.
Thanks Peter
Derek - you're a star - I'm off to collect paintings from a local exhibition soon - hopefully I won't have to collect them (if they're sold) but we'll see.
Well done Derek so very sorry that I could not come along to support you - still looking for a replacement car !!! Donna
