Already during my years as an art-student (many, many years ago!!), I am interested in the Japanese art of flower arrangements. I love the way they look for positive and negative shapes. That is what I tried to express here. For the colours and the shapes of the roses, I used one of my own photo's, the rest of the composition is pure phantasie. The drawing is ink and I used Inktense watercolour pencils for the colours.
