I've had a tin of Derwent Inktense pencils for about a year though have hardly used them; when I have, I have put the pencil on the paper and then wetted it with the brush. I have used them more over the past week or so, returning them to the tin after each use. On opening the tin last night I was horrified to see that the wood casings of approx 8 of the pencils had split lengthwise exposing the lead. It is as if the lead has expanded. The tin of pencils has been kept in my lounge and not exposed to damp conditions. I use a lot of Derwent products with no problems; these pencils are not cheap and I would have thought they should have been better than this. Has anyone had a similar experience?
