As a tutor of life, figure and portrait drawing I am amazed at how many intermediate and advanced level adult students have had such little exposure to drawing in all it's forms. Many using painting as a way of making their art. I was taught by the great Ken Howard and find it very sad that drawing seems so low on the acheivement scale for many amateur artists. When a student has drawn in one of my classes or workshops they go away so much more empowered and confident. That's a fact and not just conjecture. Drawing is so important and I wondered how many on this forum felt the same or had a converse view depending on their experience?
