I know it's Christmas Day, but the urge to bother people with questions never sleeps in some of us...
Our good friend Pratim Das, he of the unquenchable work ethic, has just produced a coloured pencil drawing with white C/P on black paper, and has asked if anyone knows of a really strong, vibrant white coloured pencil which might have made his task a little easier. I don't often use coloured pencils, and don't know enough to answer with any authority (once, I would have said Berol Karismacolor, on which we've had a couple of contributions, but as I can't find them in this country I'm not confident Pratim will find them in Bengal). I'll ask Diana Hudson too, but perhaps not on Christmas Day .... but any advice from anyone looking in?

As I am redundant this Christmas morning and been told very firmly that it's all in hand.....I might be slightly useful to Pratim. I've recently discovered Posca pens . Can be bought on line. They are a strong white marker a bit like a felt tip but can be used with coloured pencil and after a bit of practise a nice fine line is achieved . Might be useful . Now I shall go back into my legless granny corner and become invisible again .

Thanks, I'll pass that on to him. The big problem he's got is that art materials are very expensive in Bengal, because everything has to be imported from Europe or sometimes from China, and the range of materials is very limited too. I've suggested he might try conté crayon, but even they are hard to get, apparently. Still, if he can get these online that might be a possible choice - I don't know, because I've never tried them, but I assume from what you say that they'll work with coloured pencil.
