Incidentally I met a French artist during my vacations here in Chania Crete who recommended to me a bunch of pen and ink artists (most of them comic illustrators).  Some of them are already mentioned here but I will make the effort to pin them here for reference as he presented also to me two days ago. First of all I will introduce the Instagram page of the artist here.  It would not be right if not to...  He is a teacher of comic character creation in France and he teaches to 3 different schools/areas.  Grenoble, Lyon and another one close to those two that I do not remember. First he mentioned Francois Boucq Next Andre Franquin Heinrich Kley Sergey Kolesov Milt Kahl Burne Hogarth Albert Dorne Claire Wendling Jean Giraud Nico Marlet Arthur Rackham Edmund Dulac

Thank you for these Michael. I enjoy using pen and ink - there are so many styles and approaches out there.
I wonder why this thread didn't get more attention - there's some fine work here; well, I didn't attend to it myself, come to that, so can't complain about others' neglect; I used to do a lot of pen and ink work, but seem to have lost the knack - still; can't do everything.  I would like to see more of other people's work in this medium though; some, eg George Cutter's, does show up on sketch of the day.
I’ve got sketchbooks full of pen and ink drawings, some with added wash - here’s a couple to keep the thread going…

Terrific Alan
Love that top one!
Thanks both… a couple more to keep it alive!
Here are a few pen and wash drawings from  me
Nice drawings Gillian, packed with interest and I love your detailed pen work!
I agree with Alan but that door in the wall attracts me - my imagination goes to work on that one.
This morning’s scribble… Dockside warehouses on the Thames…
