Welcome to this weekend’s threats the bonus artist this week is : Sattha Homsawat ( LaFe).  Born in 1969 is known as LaFe in the global watercolour world, he is a high ranking in the international watercolour industry and a well known Thai artist. LaFe studied at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture of Silpakorn University in Thailand. He concentrates on painting roses and is interest in painting them began his acquaintance with his wife he presented her with a painting of a white rose and began intrigued with there shape and structure. I have only found one non rosé painted by him but will keep looking . He is a master of his chosen subject and uses watercolours beautifully.
Just bring this back up .
So beautifully painted...I appreciate the skill, but sadly they leave me a bit cold...prefer the water,I,lies.  But thanks Paul for introducing him... Everything is coming up roses.
I know what you mean Sylvia, I appreciate his skill and is paintings are beautiful but it’s one rose too much for me . It’s a bit live have the whole garden with nothing else but roses growing I don’t even like it when visiting large gardens where they have huge beds of roses , very nice smells but why so many.
Agree with Sylvia - beautifully painted.  (But maybe too much of a good thing?)
I also agree. Superb skill but a shame he apparently painted nothing else!
'Ere, now, 'ang on - do we know this is all he paints?  Surely not!  I only encountered him yesterday, as perhaps did we all.  I am not very interested in paintings of roses, to be quite honest, but didn't want to say so - those paintings are beautiful even if they don't do much for me - maybe enjoy what he gives us,even if we might hope for more.
I stand corrected, and obviously didn’t look hard enough!
Well done Tessa  I had a look and was unsuccessful, nice to see some other work . Could do with you on some of the investigation teams .
👍🏻Dixie the first time I looked for LaFe, found roses only. This time I searched under his full name and discovered these! It was strange to think he might have only painted mostly single roses.
Thanks Tessa I will look under his full name, he probably paints the roses under one name and other paintings in the other.
Second one from the last - huge backruns: cauliflowers, as we sometimes call them - but he's turned them to his advantage (not entirely successfully, in my opinion, but I'm not much of a watercolourist).
