A last blast of Thierry Bruet's work. This is a pastiche of the 'Death of Murat by David' painted during the French Revolution.   He's used Yue Minjun's style (the Chinese artist who seems to paint the same laughing man over and over again), he's called the painting 'The Death of Laughter.' He also does sculptures... Some more paintings... The work that I like most are the straightforward caricatures, like the one below. Well that's all folks.
I rather like the ‘Lady in Red’-Could be used as an ad for the new weight loss jab! The singing lady in blue also quite appeals I think because of the impressionist style, and I can see why the last appeals to you with your skill at caricature Lew. His conductor is also quite clever. Todays choices are less offensive than many of his others.
Thanks Lew , the last one is the best I think , it has a lot going for it , it’s fun as well .
'It isn't over 'till the fat lady sings'.  Brilliant sign off to this selection Lew.
Well the lady  did her last number and it’s time to move on , next weeks arts are : Beatrix Potter and William J Glackens . Please join us on Sunday evening when I open the thread , in the meantime take a look at the Bonus artist in about to post shortly.
I don't know what to think Lewis although a couple of his paintings do look familiar. I've taken a close look at them a couple of times and I'm still not sure. They are certainly interesting and entertaining to look at. I like most, some, I'm not too fussed about but he is a talent and his work is definitely different.
Do we know who the conductor is?   I know I've seen him but can't place him.
