Welcome to the bonus artist thread this weeks Artist is Emerson Mayers born 1976. Is an out standing award winning Yorkshire painter and  printmaker who reflects his passion for drawing and the natural world around him.  During his career he has won a number of major awards and has exhibited in many solo shows . I hope you enjoy my selection of his work and find more on line that you like.
Terrific work Dixie. I love his animals especially for their natural poses.
I also really like his animals, will have another look at his work later.
His drawings are superb, and I like the way he uses paint on the animals.  His landscapes have less appeal to me.  But another fine artist.
Had a look at some more of his prints - these are all monotypes.  Beautifully done.  Love his work - great find Paul!

It seems that his animal paintings and prints are more popular with you good folk , so I’m posting a few mor landscapes for you to look at.
Well done, Paul! I paint landscapes, mostly.  My late mother always kept on at me to paint more animals, "because you're good at them!".  She then sought reinforcement from my aunt, and these two 90-plus year olds kept on at me to paint more watervoles, foxes, badgers..... when what I really wanted to paint was landscapes.  I think what they had in mind was sales - they thought my little watervoles would sell better than my landscapes, and they were probably right.  But I didn't want to be a painter of cute little critters: I know I can do those - there's less of a challenge for me there.  So - I prefer to paint, and to view, landscapes.  But I wish I'd painted/drawn that prowling fox up above - I've seen the artful old devils in just that pose, it's so absolutely typical and so brilliantly caught.  My mum would have been most impressed: and so am I.
Victor the Vole - my present to my late Auntie Peg, and not offered as any kind of competition to the artist under discussion.  Because it's a competition he'd win.
The prints are excellent but I do like his landscapes and the colours and brushwork. I can appreciate the skill re the animals but I can lose myself in the landscapes and the moods he has created.
I like his landscapes as well Marjorie. I don’t paint in oils and sometimes find them a bit difficult to make out properly  most likely due my eyesight, but the ones I’ve posted I really like and the lovely colours.
