Wellcome to this weekends bonus artist thread , sorry for the late posting I simply forgot to do it sooner( it’s mu age ) . This weekends bonus artist is Matthew Snowdon , born in Heswell Merseyside in 1969 he studied art at Withens Lane College in 1989 followed by Industrial Design (BA Hon) at Teeside University 1990-1993. Matthew has been a full time artist for over twenty five years. I hope you enjoy his artwork, yet another research discovery.
Another great choice, Paul, I love this artist’s seascapes - full of movement, and such fresh colours with that thickly textured application of paint.

Thanks Jenny he certainly lays on the paint and to great effect.
Ooh, how spooky (tribute to Dame Edna Everage. of blessed memory): I was thinking of painting with acrylic knife - mind you, I might not, now.... competition too stiff.
Almost a local boy just over the boundary.   Wonderful stuff,  at first I thought they were of a lot of my happy places then saw they were mainly done in NZ.  Big thanks for intro Jenny.
Wonderful stuff, as Jenny says full of movement and fresh colours. Just looked at his website Sylvia and there are quite a few painted in both North Wales and the Hebrides.

Thanks Tessa will go and look.
Big, Bold and Brilliant.  Well some aren't that big, but so what.  I thought I put this comment up yesterday so either I didn't press 'Post Reply' or I have left a really strange sounding comment on another thread - so it's back today with a bonus of one of Snowden's paintings.
Nice choice Tony , you comment was added to the thread showing the upcoming artist for this thread .
The sky in that last one is just fab isn’t it!  I imagine he must get through a heck of a lot of oil paint and they must take forever to dry. Actually I just looked at his website again and realise they are acrylic not oil. Makes sense!

I would not like to pay for his paint Tessa even if it is acrylic, bet he uses more tubes of paint on a large painting than I do in five , mind you I’m tight fisted .
🤭😀
