He had what the cognoscenti call "a lively line" in his sketches and figure paintings; but the one shown last but one - I think it reads "for Dolores", or something similar - is not convincing; the line of the jaw, and  the way the index finger lies against the face, don't look like the work of a competent portraitist.  Of course, it may be an early work?
I've had a look online - that painting was attributed to Becker in  one exhibition, but has also been attributed to an Australian artist named Patterson; a more likely attribution I would have thought, since while I wouldn't go so far as to call it "awful", I wouldn't stray too far from that word either.  As for the lower painting - not convinced, but at least it's well painted.
Bit of further investigation - the lowest of the pictures isn't a Becker either; it's a painting by Wm. Duckworth Greenham - or so we're told.  It certainly doesn't bear any resemblance to anything Becker ever painted.  Quite the journey of discovery..... PS - the Patterson painting is actually signed by Patterson.

Thanks Robert , I just took it at face value that they were his as a  gallery had attributed them  to him , thankfully we have people who will look close and find out who actually painted them.
I like the one by Wm. Duckworth Greenham
