Thank you for the introduction Sandra. I like his landscape paintings especially of your wonderful snow capped peaks! Had to look up lifestyle block as not a term I had heard of. I also tried to find some more of his war work but was unsuccessful. This is my second attempt to comment this morning. Fingers crossed- previous did not succeed.
Thank-you Tessa, I'm glad you like them. I did read that given the materials available for his war paintings, a lot hadn't survived.
Ah yes didn’t think of that angle.
A fine artist.  The paintings that particularly appeal are the last of Sandra’s posts, the snow mountain, and the one with flowers in the foreground.
I like the style of his landscape paintings, especially the first two of your second to last selection, Sandra, the snow capped mountains, love the colours in these as well.

Thanks Sandra , I will take a look at his work later today, I like what you have posted . By the way not sure what the problem is but I’ve had some issues loading photos to the forum this week, no problems on the gallery.
Another of his mountain scenes in watercolour - love the range of blues and simplicity of it.

That’s a beauty Jenny.
Very powerful  blues in some of these - I presume that's representative of the colours in that part of the world, since I note that Andrew Tischler (oil painter, mostly) also employs them.  When in this country (especially at the moment) you see the landscape through mist, fog, and rain, the vividness of the blue can seem unreal.  Another painter who  lived a good long life, I see!
I find Austen Deans landscape paintings in particular very appealing. Thank you for introducing him Sandra.
Alister Austen Deans OBE His paintings seem to radiate a sense of pease to my eye, and the colouring is beautiful. That painting second from last is a stunner. There is no detail just lots of marks and colours all placed harmoniously together. Thanks for sharing Sandra.

Representative of the colours here in summer Robert. I think the relative lack of pollution gives us quite a blue sky. In winter you'd see the landscape through mist, fog and rain, and you wouldn't see the mountains at all.
